Hello again everyone, thanks for listening to the podcast!

It’s been two weeks since that first podcast, now I’m ready to share my G20 experience with you.

I left for Toronto on Thursday, June 24th and came back on Monday the 28th a changed man.  This was an extraordinary experience, participating in a real expression of democracy and change.

From the Council of Canadians’ “Shout Out For Global Justice!” on Friday night, to the main march and aftermath on Saturday, through the confrontation at the Alternative Media Centre, I saw people like you and me, filling the streets with our bodies and the air with our shouts for justice and freedom.  I had never before felt like a part of something so important, and so universal.  From a country of diversity comes a movement for a common future for all of us.

Okay, I’m putting my neck out to proclaim I have hope for the future, even though this edition of the podcast is centered around events designed to squish it like a bug.  Once again, there has been an event in Canada making people take notice of their responsibilities for civil action and hitting the streets!

Not a day has gone by that another protest pops up in Toronto, demanding inquiries about the police action and what followed.

Now we’re planning a rally right here in Regina, and in communities across Canada.  On Saturday July 17th we will meet on Scarth Street at 11:00 a.m., listen to a few speakers, then march to the police station.  Police were called in from all over Canada, including Regina, and we need to let them know how angry we are about it!

I just got back yesterday from Toronto and the G20 Summit Protests.  I was gone from Thursday the 24th to Monday the 28th and was a witness to the new form of police state our government has thrust upon us.

Unlike so many hundreds of people, I escaped without being detained, arrested or beaten.  My heart cries out for the loss of our freedoms and the establishment of brutal police tactics against free citizens of this country!

I attended many but not all of the events for the weekend.  Friday night’s Shout Out for Global Justice! presented by The Council of Canadians was a gathering of progressive voices from around the world.  I was at Saturday’s march from Queen’s Park towards the barrier fence.  I was almost one of those detained downtown at the Alternative Media Headquarters as the police were arresting those journalists.

I won’t go into much detail at this point.  I have so many recordings to edit, and so many thoughts to filter through, the next podcast might be a while.  I want to make at least one G20 themed podcast to help you understand the nature of the protests and what lessons we can learn from both sides of the conflict.

Tomorrow I’m going to the lake to relax and unwind.  So much adrenaline and emotion surged through me over the last week that I think I may go crazy.  I’m taking a quick break.  I’ll get back to work on the show next week, and will try to get the next show out by the weekend of July 10th.  I regret I will not be able to get it out sooner.  I hope I can get on a regular schedule of one podcast every 10-14 days with some confidence.  I have a job, and I have many summer season obligations.

Welcome to the Northwest Rebellion Podcast.  This podcast is dedicated to the people of Saskatchewan, and Western Canada in particular.  I want to share my experiences and ideas about how to bring a new progressive revolution to our part of the world.  The time is right for us to rise up and take over the establishment!

This is my very first podcast, just to try things out.  It’s rough, a bit disorganized, but with your help, it will get better!  Post comments!  Send emails!  I want to hear from you, because without you, there is no “movement.”

I want this podcast to become a rallying point for activism in Saskatchewan.  Let’s get together and shout our demands to our leaders.  At this point, when the world is on the brink of collapse, we have to take action NOW to prevent disaster!
